Bug ID: 305791
Severity: minor
URL: http://i.imgur.com/OCZBA.png
Version: 4.8.4
Priority: NOR
Assignee: plasma-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Hardware Temperature: Graph does not scale when the
units setting is changed in system-settings/Locale
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: akarsh.simha@kdemail.net
Hardware: Debian testing
Status: NEW
Component: widget-systemmonitor
Product: plasma
Let us say I change scale from Farenheit to Celsius by changing the system of
units to Metric. The graph showing the temperature history of the CPU does not
scale. Instead, one notices a "huge drop in temperature" when switching from
Farenheit to Celsius, although only the units have changed.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open up System Settings / Locale.
2. Switch to the "Other" tab
3. Switch the system of units from Metric to Imperial / vice versa.
4. Observe the temperature graphs shown in the panel by "Hardware Temperature"
widget
Actual Results:
The graph plots the numerical value of the temperature in either unit, rather
then plotting a unit-agnostic temperature value.
Expected Results:
The graph should be agnostic to the unit system used. There should not be a
fake "drop" in temperature when switching from °F to °C, nor should there be a
fake "rise" in temperature when switching from °C to °F on the graph.
For instance, the graph might only plot the temperatures in Celsius, while the
numeric display when hovering on the graph could be dependent on the chosen
unit system.
A screenshot of the bug happening is available here:

The "spike" in temperature is not real -- it was just produced by changing
units from °C to °F and back.
