I also have had this issue. Even if I decide to kill a hanging virtuoso process
(at 100%, not reacting on SIGHUP or SIGTERM), it should not corrupt the daemon
process. I don't know if virtuoso is to blame or nepomuk, but finding this bug
through scanning .xsession-errors and removing the transaction log is far from
trivial and has stopped me from using nepomuk for the last few weeks since I
had little time to mess with my system. I think this should be automatically
corrected on startup if possible without destroying any important data (besides
the stuff documented in the transaction log).
