No, but I am on x86_64 and noticed that maybe about a 3-4 months ago.

Also just noticed the same with .mp3 files. So freeze happens only once when I
am hovering an .mp3 file or .png, I mean if I will open dolphin and hover .mp3
file dolphin will freeze but then when I hover .png freezing doesn't happen
again until dolphin restart.
