#10 0x00007f02c027bcc1 in KKeySequenceButton::event
#9  KKeySequenceButton::keyPressEvent
#8  0x00007f02c043c3f6 in cancelRecording
-> this means the key in the event is "garbabge" - "-1"
#7  0x00007f02c043c0f7 in KKeySequenceWidgetPrivate::doneRecording
#6  QAbstractButton::setDown (this=0x807170, down=false) at
widgets/qabstractbutton.cpp:787
-> "if (d->down == down)", ie. the d pointer is garbage, ie. the button is
garbage, ie. the ctrl+alt+shift combo likely closed the popup

What kind of keyboards do you use (layout, kdb or evdev driver) and esp. does
the ctrl+alt+shift combo eventually enter the 3rd level selection (ie. is
alt+ctrl effetively AltGr)?

Oh, and the "anything" does not happen to be "*" or "/", does it?
See
Option "AllowClosedownGrabs" "boolean"
Option "AllowDeactivateGrabs" "boolean"
