Yep... I think what matches your needs would be the following:
- Leave the Dolphin default settings ("(x) Remember view properties for each
directory")
- On your e.g. home-directory switch to the details-view, add the columns,
sort-order etc. you prefer as default
- Click on "View -> Adjust View Properties..."
- Select "[x] Use these view properties as default"

Now each directory you enter will have this view as default (until you change
it of course).

In case if you probably have some old directories with unwanted view-settings
please also check:
"Apply view properties To ... (x) All Folders" (don't worry: no .directory
files will be created at all for all your directories, just a timestamp will be
reset)

If you use "Apply view properties To ... (x) Current folders including
sub-folders" .directory files will be created (I don't know whether you care
about those files, but I know that some "Use common view properties"-users
chose that setting because they are somehow worried about the hidden .directory
files that are created when adjusting the view-properties of a directory).
