In all cases, the process jobs don't go away until I close Digikam. Not sure what metadata settings you are interested in. There's one section labeled "Write this information to the metadata". Prfeviously, I had none of those items checked. I just tried checking them all, and I am still seeing persistent process jobs after tagging after making that change.
