@Sergio, this issue has already been fixed in faulty applications for 4.8.1 as
you can see in comments above and in "DEPENDS" bugs. I am waiting for the
approval of a string exemption for 4.8.1 to introduce an option to configure
whether lid close should be considered an explicit event or not, restoring the
explicit behavior as default, to close this bug. However updating
Apper/KTorrent should be enough already for fixing this behavior on your
machine.

P.S.: Dramatizing bug titles doesn't actually help in solving them, and this
bug has been on top of our priority list since 4.8.0
