I reproduced the issue on Dolphin 1.6.1 KDE 4.6.5:

Steps to Reproduce
Open Dolphin (this happens similarly in Konqueror)
Split the view (Main menu View->Split)
Select two files in the first view
Drag the selection to second view
Select an operation (say, Copy)
Select a third file in the first view
Delete selection

Actual Results
The three selected files will be deleted

Expected Results
Only the last selected file was deleted

I agree that there's a chance for mistakes with the current behavior. However,
I'm changing the severity to wishlist because Konqueror/Dolphin have worked
this way for a long time and most file managers (e.g. Mac OSX Finder, Windows
Explorer) I've used behave like the current functionality.

It might be worth experimenting with this. One possibility would be to add an
option to toggle between these two behaviors.
