you are inside libc:
(gdb) -stack-list-frames --thread 1 --frame 0 0 21

and there step into and listing locals won't work as you don't have debug
symbols.

Open the Frame Stack tool view to see that.

Now the question is why gdb breaks inside libc, as you don't have a breakpoint
set inside.
