I have exactly the same problem with amarok 2.4.3 on openSUSE 12.1. This
occurred twice already: 
1. Start amarok.
2. As the playlist progresses, song titles and statistics slowly disappear.
3. The collection becomes empty.

After restarting amarok, I observe that lyrics, ratings and playlists are gone.
Thankfully, the backup I did a week ago works fine.
