I have to confirm this bug.
Graphiccard is: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300
Driver: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-280.13
KDE 4.7.1 is installed from:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Distro:/Factory/openSUSE_11.4/

But inspite of other reports here in my case Firefox or/and Chromebrowser will
crash when I enable desktop effects.
These applications will not remain visible and operable.
Disabling desktop effects again shows only KDE-applications like dolphin or
kontact having survived.
