I can reproduce with KDE 4.6.5
The problem seems to be that "going up" changes the URL inside the address
input field from
/usr/share/doc/manual/opensuse-manuals_en/manual/index.html
to
/usr/share/doc/manual/opensuse-manuals_en/manual/
but still displaying the index.html page

When I now switch to "embedded advanced text view" I get an error dialog as the
text view can not load a directory as content:

"The file /usr/share/doc/manual/opensuse-manuals_en/manual/ could not be
loaded, as it was not possible to read from it.

Check if you have read access to this file."
