Image showing the panel with incorrect background

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

The right part of the pannel has correctly a gray background.
But the left part has black background, with a strange pattern on it.

It always has this look, independent of wether auto-hide is on or not.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
The problem happens directly after login.

Expected Results:
The background of the whole panel should be gray.

Computer: ASUS N71J
Screen size: 1600x1900
