KDE SC 4.6.2 and the same. It's almost impossible to watch my /var/log/messages
(40Mb) because plasma-desktop consumes 300Mb of RAM.
Furthermore, it doesn't free (or heap become very fragmented) and it still
wasting 250Mb of RAM.
