Summary: No pipe symbol in German keyboard layout when using
layouts ch,de
Product: systemsettings
Version: 1.0
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: kcm_keyboard_layout
AssignedTo: arysin@gmail.com
ReportedBy: Ronny.Standtke@gmx.net
Version: 1.0 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS: Linux
I use the keyboard layouts ch,de. The order is important here: ch is the
default but I want to be able to switch to de.
The key besides the left Shift key has the three characters "<,>,\" (key,
Shift+key, Alt Gr+key) when using the ch layout and "<,>,|" when using the de
layout.
When I switch from ch to de I can no longer type in the pipe symbol "|" (typing
Alt Gr+<) but I get "\" instead (as with the ch layout).
This makes it very difficult for me to use KDE with the German keyboard layout
as I really need the pipe symbol quite often in Konsole and do not feel like
switching back to another layout every time I have to type the pipe symbol...
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Use the keyboard layouts "ch" (first and default layout) and "de" as
secondary layout. (Log out and in again to be sure.)
2) Open Konsole.
3) Switch the keyboard layout from ch to de.
4) Try writing the pipe symbol "|" with "Alt Gr+<".
5) Notice that you typed "\" instead.
Actual Results:
Typing "Alt Gr+<" with the de layout produces the character "\" (wrong) instead
of "|" (correct).
Expected Results:
Typing "Alt Gr+<" with the de layout should produce the character "|".
