Created an attachment (id=57839)

my xfce desktop :)

Well i surely have not LEFT kde, it is just that at the very moment, it is not
in the state i wished it would be. I am using several KDE applications - kate,
konqueror, and i regularily sync to git, and even take a dive and start a kde
session with my .kde folder renamed just to see. But there are often design
decisions i as a power user absolutely abhor - dialog text made unselectable,
complexity removed from interface, app maintainers considering their interface
decisions final and undebatable (okular), trivial bugs residing in code for
like ever. Uhh, and rotated text on the plasma desktop is still not
anti-aliased, WTF?
At the end of it's life cycling, using KDE 3.5 was a highly satisfying
experience. I truely hope KDE4 will get there (=providing the same sane,
functional featurism/slickness), until then i am very happy with using xfce as
a desktop, and occasionally some kde apps. BTW, xfce does crash and have bugs,
but the optical functionality is somewhat more to my liking atm, see
screenshot.
Plasma has been all hot air to me until now. Everytime i used it, it sucked
and/or crashed, even though i know it bears great potential api wise. Once i
can configure it to look just as xfce PLUS the zoom-bling plasmaroidzorgz, i
will give kde another chance as my prime message manager.

and uuhm, in my opinion, the download dialogs this bug is about should be
hidden by default.
