I am maintaining lernstick, a live distribution for Swiss schools:

Many of our users have expressed the wish to be able to put desktop directories
(or application folders, whatever you want to call them) into the kickoff
favorites tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try adding a desktop directory into the kickoff favorites by context menu or
via drag&drop.

Actual Results:  
It does not work. There is no context menu and drag&drop does not work.

Expected Results:  
A desktop directory can be added to the kickoff favorites.
