Removing .kdev4/ and recreating it indeed solved the problem, build type and
extra arguments are now set correctly.

Also meanwhile I've upgraded to
kdevplatform commit 53dfceefbaab26f33aa1c5580f8094ec539b119c
kdevelop commit 57db52992b65021841dd413e94df22ef090f93f0
