Summary: Profiles/Identities should be bound to languages
Product: kmail
Version: 1.13.2
Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: composer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: spillner@kde.org
Version: 1.13.2 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux
As someone interacting with many people over the world in different languages,
I somehow miss the ability to specify that some profiles have different
languages attached to them. This way, the template text languages could be made
independent from the KDE language. To give an example: Currently, I run KDE in
Italian. However, within my German and English work context, I sometimes want
KMail to say "Am Donnerstag, 15. Juli 2010, um 14:16:14 schrieben Sie:" instead
of "In data lunedì, 19. di luglio 2010 11:11:33, hai scritto:".
I'm aware of the academic nature of this bug, but it still would be neat if
KMail and KDE apps in general would support multilingual environments better.
I'm also aware of the workaround of setting the text manually, but if KDE
already ships with the translations, there should be a way to just load them
and to make good use of the macros.
Reproducible: Always
