I can confirm that this happens for me as well on Kubuntu 10.4. The workaround
mentioned by everyone else seems to be the current solution. Most of the time
it happens after I have returned from a longer period of inactivity, as far as
I have seen it hasn't happened while I have been working with the computer
actively.
