I am the reporter of duplicate bug 235411. Now I think this is not a KDE bug, I
think it is a video driver bug (or it is an interaction between video driver
and KDE). I recently turned off kernel mode setting, and now this dialog is
behaving as it should.
Details:
Kubuntu Lucid 10.04
Thinkpad T60 with ATI x1400
Fix: added a file /etc/modprobe.d/radeon.conf with contents:
options radeon modeset=0
and now the KDE dialog works as expected. (There are other X-related issues
that are still a problem, but I believe none of these to be KDE's fault.)
