Summary: can't display KNote of choice in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
           Product: knotes
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
        ReportedBy: x19mark@yahoo.com

Version: 3.9 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-21-generic

Hi,

Almost nothing fully pleases me. openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 3.5.[whatever] actually
pleased me a great deal. KNotes (in openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 3.5.[whatever])
pleased me mightily.

I like this saying: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" KDE 3.5 was great. KDE 4
is terrible. That is why I switched from openSUSE to Ubuntu. It took me quite a
while to get used to Gnome. I vastly prefer KDE 3.5 to Gnome, but I prefer
Gnome to KDE 4.

I found that I couldn't enjoy life without KNotes. I tried everything. There's
no substitute for KNotes. I was thrilled to discover that I could add KNotes to
Ubuntu 9.10. (Unfortunately, Ubuntu's version of KNotes is not quite as good as
openSUSE's version of KNotes.) Under Ubuntu 9.10, KNotes worked brilliantly
(more or less).

By simply clicking on the KNotes panel icon, I could display a drop-down menu
of all my KNotes (I use a lot of notes). Then, simply by clicking on one of the
menu items--a name of one of my notes--I could display just the KNote that I
wanted to see and use. In other words, I could display any KNote or KNotes that
I wanted to display. I could display one KNote or two KNotes or three KNotes,
etc.

Today--Friday, April 30, 2010--I upgraded from Ubuntu 9.10 to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
I've discovered that KNotes under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (which is brand new) has a
serious problem: I can no longer display the KNote or KNotes of my choice. The
new KNotes drop-down menu only allows me to "Show All Notes"; the new KNotes
drop-down menu does not provide me with a list of names of my KNotes. Every
time that I want to use only one of my KNotes, I have to display all of them
(at once). It's extremely annoying and time-wasting. I end up having to close
all the KNotes except the one or ones that I actually want to use. (Currently,
I have 13 KNotes.) (Maybe that's the problem!)

I'm miserable enough when KNotes works perfectly. Please fix it!!

Bye-bye,

Mark
