I'm not understimating the problem. I am trying to tell him that he's looking
for a fix in the wrong place.

Btw, if you wanted a fix so badly, here it comes:

sudo cp $KDEPREFIX/share/polkit/actions/* /usr/polkit/actions
sudo cp $KDEPREFIX/share/dbus-1/system-services/*
/usr/share/dbus-1/system-services
sudo cp $KDEPREFIX/etc/dbus-1/system.d/* /etc/dbus-1/system.d

I'd love to point out that out of these three paths, two are from DBus and one
is from polkit. So - guess what? - the problem is widespread in the fd.o stack.
And you know you can't even install the plasma python engine in a different
prefix as well, do you? I think you can see the point now. And copying some
files is not rocket science.
