OK, it is now 19:02 local time. Plan for for the night:

* determine what image format libraries Dolphin already has a dependency on
* write a command line tool to extract image dimension information from each of
these formats

I am starting right now and if I am not done by 7:02 tomorrow then I will admit
that the task is indeed anywhat difficult.
