Sorry, I've moved on and no longer use KDE4, so I can't check how thing are
now. 
My original report was intended as a reminder about standards (just what the
other browsers do) to make better user experience, because for me it's
uncomfortable when shortcuts are different from the established standards. I
use shortcuts a lot.
I use GNOME and Google Chrome now and I'm really happy :)
