--- Comment #21 from Gerry Gavigan <gavigan iee org> 2009-07-30 22:53:11 ---
The last two comments are to the point.

This together with the problems in konqueror itself place 4.3 in a difficult
position.

I don't think any of us reporting bugs are willing KDE to fail, but as an end
user I am slightly mystified by the current round.

That these problems even entered RC3 raise issues about the quality control
process by those that understand KDE better than me.

However, as there do not appear to be comments elsewhere on the web bitching
about these issues, it would seem that there is a community of users that are
testing but not complaining, willing KDE 4.x to reach its promise,

When I show all this stuff to "mere" users as I seek to persuade them about the
benefits of Free Software am I supposed to rely on

"This has been present since at least 4.2.2, so one release more or less with
the bug is not going to change anything."

It's not very "community", is it?

If kbookmarks (cf current state of konqueror) is borked then roll it back to a
version that isn't.

I understood the argument about 4.0 not intended for end users, I don't
understand it being applied to 4.3

FWIW
