https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=200157 Summary: Phonon should store device info in a computer-specific location Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_phonon AssignedTo: kretz@kde.org ReportedBy: rivolaks@hot.ee Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Currently Phonon keep the list of audio devices in ~/.kde/share/config/phonondevicesrc file. This is problematic when a shared user profile (= home directory) is used on multiple computers with different soundcards. In that case, when logging into a different computer, Phonon warns about missing/changed soundcards on startup. A solution would be to either store this configuration in a computer-specific location (maybe somewhere under ~/.kde/cache-* ?) or, alternatively, to add a computer specific token (maybe hostname) to the group names in the config file. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
