Heh. I'm Canadian, so we're supposed to be using DD/MM/YY (easily confused with
the U.S.'s MM/DD/YY when the day is less than 13) but I also stick to
YYYY-MM-DD whenever possible.

I just refer to it as "shortened ISO 8601 form". (The full ISO 8601 form
specifies the timezone)
