The pager assumes it is always on a horizontal panel.
The config dialog shows "number of rows/columns" depending on
the panel orientation but I get 1 row instead of 1 column on a
vertical panel. This used to work correctly.
If I select 6 columns (the number of my desktops) the lower desktops disappear
behind the next applet even if enough space is available on the panel.
I'm not sure when I last updated from svn but I think this happened sometime
during the last two weeks
