Summary: Wish: Attach windows for Alt-Tab purposes
           Product: kwin
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwin@kde.org
        ReportedBy: kde-2@dotancohen.com

Version: (using KDE 4.2.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Some applications, with Gimp being an obvious example, use multiple windows in
their GUIs. Many users do not like that, as it complicates actions such as
Alt-Tab. A workaround is to put these applications on their own desktops, but
this workaround has disadvantages as well.

I propose an option to attach two windows for purpose of Alt-Tab. For instance,
if the user has three windows open (Okular, Gimp's Main Toolbox window, Gimp's
Image window) then by default he must Alt-Tab through three windows. With this
proposal, the user could attach the two Gimp windows so that they Alt-Tab
together as a unit. Thus, the user only has to tab through two "units": Okular
and the combined Gimp windows.
