Sorry, I missed that earlier email asking for a response.

Yes I had tried it on clean accounts, with no effect. I have subsequently
overtweaked my xorg.conf, and it had a small improvement, but not much. It does
not always happen, and I don't know the use case to get it to trigger.

It never happens on my other systems, which are FreeBSD with Open Source radeon
drivers (for 9200 and X1550).
