Summary: Plasma renders fonts with overlapping characters
Product: plasma
Version: unspecified
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: plasma-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: realnc@gmail.com
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Compiler: GCC 4.3.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
All versions of KDE 4 (including latest 4.2.0) on my system (Gentoo Linux
64-bit) seem to have this bug when rendering fonts in Plasma areas:
http://i40.tinypic.com/15hhdud.png
(Note the rendering bug in the words "Free" and "Year".) At first I thought
this is a bug with the font I use "DejaVu Sans", but it turned out other fonts
inhibit the same behavior after a while.
This *only* happens in Plasma areas (Plasmoids and panel for example.) Normal
widgets (buttons, text areas, etc.) aren't affected.
