Using trunk, does anybody have a corrupt background using compositing and
drivers other than nvidia binaries? I haven't read anything definitive, but it
looks like it should work as it is.

Let's get this bug fully fixed first. The translucency stuff might be trivial,
but it can't be tested (at least not by me) if background painting isn't
working at all.
