When I posted comment #1, HTTP proxying with authenticating proxy didn't work
and now it is. But after reading some of the comments above, it seems this bug
is more about HTTPS through a proxy and I haven't tested that yet. I'm going to
test HTTPS and FTP and will report the results here.

Mandriva 2009.0 is shipped with KDE 4.1.2 but if I look at the changelog, there
doesn't seem to be any specific fix / workaround for this bug.
