Same problem with most links on ftd.de.
konqueror3, firefox and w3m (and probably many less common browsers) seem not
to care too much about RFC compliance and render these without complaints.
So mee too wishes that you could do like them and work around this annoying
server behaviour for sake of a better user experience.
