------- Additional Comments From pandarsson yahoo com 2008-07-30 00:24 -------
This is not Fedora-specific. I'm running openSuSE 10.3 and get the same message. \
I've been running the KDE 4.x series since the official release of 4.0 (always from \
openSuSE RPMs) and have noticed this problem - but only at certain sites. I waited \
for the official 4.1 release to see if this would correct itself. It hasn't. For \
instance, what brought me here was the current situation:

I went to google.com. That worked. I went to igoogle and that worked. I went to \
google mail and that worked. I then tried another site (moodgarden.org) and got the \
error message, even with multiple refreshes. Then I tried a site from which I've \
always gotten this error page since I started the 4.x series (whirled.com) and, as I \
suspected would happen, got the error message. I tried homestarrunner.com and got \
the message again. I then tried bugs.kde.org and got the same message. I was able \
to go to yahoo webmail after that. I could go to moodgarden.org successfully after \
that.

According to the proxy settings, I connect to the internet directly - as it is in my \
3.5.9 konqueror, which works. I doubt cache would have anything to do with it, but \
it's set to keep cache in sync. According to connection preferences, passive mode is \
enabled and mark partially uploaded files is enabled. I'm not sure what service \
discovery is, but mine is empty.

I am running 4.1 with no firewall beyond what's on my router, but all ports are \
opened to this computer.
