Right, but Kate is only one of possibly many editors usable with KDevelop (its \
currently the only implementation for KTextEditor interfaces, but it seems at least \
yzis is taking up speed again). So providing macro feature in KDevelop will always \
work, no matter which editor is integrated.
Besides I think a macro recorder doesn't quite fit into kate-the-editor, but into \
kate-the-application (as for kwrite a macro recorder is far too much).
Last but not least: I think there are some people who want to port kommander from \
kdesdk to kdevplatform and thus integrate it with Kdevelop and Quanta which IIRC \
would fix this wish too.
