I seem to have the same problem, with different programs and particular setup.

Note that (for me at least) the problem only appears if you also have a window that \
is "allways on top" and if you disable the "show window list when switching windows" \
window behavior option. The original poster didn't mention an allways-on-top window \
so I'm not 100% sure this is the same bug, but it sounds likely.

Steps to reproduce :
* log into fresh new account
* disable "show window list" option in control center
* launch two programs, say konsole and kwrite
* using the titlebar menu, set konsole to fullscreen and kwrite to allways on top
* activate konsole (click on it, or mouse over it if you have focus-follow-mouse)

Expected :
* kwrite stays visible (allways-on-top)

Observed :
* kwrite disappears
* cannot switch back to kwrite using alt-tab. using alt-f2 helps, though.


Tested with KDE 3.5.9 (gentoo ebuild) and svn trunk (kdesvn-build, revision 816093).



My annoying use-case : I work in a full-screen konsole most of the time, and miss IM \
messages regularly because kopete windows remain behind konsole even though I've set \
allways-on-top for them.
