Summary: Kickoff layout should depend on the panel position.
Product: plasma
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: widget-kickoff
AssignedTo: panel-devel kde org
ReportedBy: aldo-public laposte net
Version: (using KDE 4.0.3)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Kickoff has obviously been optimized for a good usability when the panel is on the \
lower edge of the screen. Now that we can move the panel, some issues really weaken \
the usability of kickoff when we do it.
I spotted those ones, but maybe there are other:
- the handle for resizing the panel is in the upper-right corner of the menu. In the \
worst case scenario, when the K button is at the upper-right corner of the screen, \
that handle cannot accomplish anything. In most of the cases, the resizing will be \
impaired in one of the directions.
- the tabs of the menu are in its lower area which makes them easily reachable after \
having opened the menu with the mouse... only when the panel is on the lower edge.
VoilĂ , that all I've seen, but that would already be great if the handle could be \
put on a useful corner (or why not all corners ?) and if the tabs could be put next \
to the panel (no matter on which of the 4 edges the user decided to put it). Thanks !
