That works fine for me, if newproject doesn't exist and the repository has been \
created under /home/foo using svnadmin create myrepository.

Please check wether the kdevsvnd service is running, start kcontrol, go to KDE \
components->services. There should be an entry "subversion module(KDevelop" in the \
list that needs to be running.
