I completely agree with Jens and thats why I moved this to kate.

Even if KTE would allow to show/hide the line border the rest of the argument still \
stands, we'd somehow have to know wether the default is in effect or the user simply \
turned the border off (or make that whole thing configurable with yet another almost \
useless setting in KDevelop).
