Revision 780739 fixes the bug so that the behaviour is consistent with Konsole in KDE 3.5 and other \
terminals.  In other words, dragging the cursor beyond the end of the text in the last line of output \
'selects' the new line character as well.

Actually fixing this particular report requires a more deliberate approach.

That is something which is deliberate and was added in prior to KDE 4 by someone else.  I presume the \
reason was so that the name of a command or a filename could be selected using double-click or \
triple-click selection (which doesn't include a new line at the end of the selection) and Ctrl+MMB paste \
explicitly adds in a new line character to do paste-and-execute.
