The issue is in the layout, Xkb doesn't support "multiple keysyms per keypress" whch \
means one key can't produce multiple characters, the writer of the Arabic layout for \
xkb tried to get around this by using the unicode ligature directly which is wrong \
and shouldn't happened. In the last xkeyboard-config released all lam-alef keyes were \
removed untill the xkb bug is fixed.
