I have the same (or very similar) problem.

When I browse through folders on a remote server as fish://root server/ the URL never \
changes. I cannot manually enter a sub directory either.

I _think_ I had the same problem with ftp:// on KDE 4.0.0, but if that's the case it \
has been fixed with 4.0.1.
