I turned all the individual effects off and tried again. Good news is I don't think \
it's crashing anymore. Bad news is I get a black screen with a functioning mouse \
pointer. Only way out is to restart X. I'll attach the kwin log, but it doesn't seem \
to really be complaining about anything.
