Thanks for the load of information, unfortunately you missed one of the most \
important parts: A Backtrace of the crash. Usually a Dr. Konqi window should open up \
when a KDE app crashes. On the second tab you can get a backtrace from the crash.

If that doesn't work, run gdb kdevelop from a shell and after it crashes (the gui \
won't disappear but will not be repsonsive, go back to the shell then) type the "bt" \
command and hit return to produce the backtrace.

Also make sure you install the kdevelop-dbg and kdelibs-dbg package if your \
distribution ships such a thing.
