           Summary: Bad Q_ASSERT in KonqPixmapProvider::iconNameFor
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konq-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: magnusj it uu se

Version:            (using KDE Devel)
Installed from:    Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2)
OS:                Linux

I can't get Konqueror to start since it always crashes with

konqueror(28539) KHTMLPluginKTTSD::KHTMLPluginKTTSD: \
                KHTMLPLuginKTTSD::KHTMLPluginKTTSD: KTrader did not find KTTSD.
ASSERT: "!directoryType.isNull()" in file \
                /home/kde-devel/src/KDE/kdebase/apps/konqueror/src/konqpixmapprovider.cpp, \
                line 72
KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2

After looking at the code I think the problem is changed behaviour
of KMimeType::mimeType between KDE 3.5 and KDE 4.0. According to the
documentation, 0L is never returned by KMimeType::mimeType in 3.5
(so the Q_ASSERT makes sense), but 0 may be returned by KMimeType::mimeType
in KDE 4.0 (so the Q_ASSERT needs to be replaced by something else that
deals with this situation, exactly what I do not know).
