Well, from what I see here, it really seems to be related to full screen mode. But \
something else I noticed is that the cursor does not blink anymore after switching to \
full screen but it is frozen, i.e. not blinking any more.

When talking about full screen mode I am not referring to the "window maximize" but \
to the full screen mode that is enabled through removing the window decorations \
(Ctrl-Alt-F).

This bug does not occur with Kate. I just checked that.

If I can provide any other info please let me know.
