But then--I'm sorry--I'm not going to change the current behavior. Writing all notes to disk every time you hit a key would be horrible (and it's got to be all notes since there is only the one ics-file with all notes in it). No other application does that, just try KWrite or KWord or similar. If you kill X instead of shutting it down properly, you have to deal with the consequences--and I designed KNotes already so that only minimal data loss ever occurs. And yes, the configuration, like note position, color, size, etc. will only be saved upon correct application shutdown since this information is not crucial. You could hit "Quit" before killing X to save everything. Thus, I'll close this report. Cheers and thanks for your feedback, Michael
