Summary: static IP configuration not possible when using wireless
networks
Product: knetworkmanager
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: wstephenson kde org
ReportedBy: sjorsgielen gmail com
Version: 0.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Compiler: gcc 4.1.2 (Ubuntu 4.1.2-0ubuntu4)
OS: Linux
I'm using knetworkmanager to connect me to my wireless WPA-protected wireless network. The \
connecting works fine; yet, when it connects, it uses DHCP to assign me an address on the \
network. I could not find any way of deactivating this and letting me choose my own address.
How to reproduce: Connect to a wireless network with a DHCP server running. Run `ifconfig`.
Expected behaviour: When configuring wireless network, give options for DHCP or static \
configuration. When connecting, read these options and apply.
